Four hundred kilometers upstream free from any human activity is a jewel of the Surinamese rainforest in the river Corantijn, with picturesque landscapes, waterfalls and bubbling rapids: the Wonotobo falls. The petroglyphs (rock drawings) and grinding grooves of the Indians who once lived here are impressive as well.

DAY PROGRAM
7 day trip:
Day 1:
08.00 we depart Paramaribo and drive direction Nickerie. In Coronie in Wageningen stops are made. At 13.00 there is a lunch. In the afternoon we stroll through New Nickerie, there is also opportunity to visit the area Bigi Pang. Overnight in a hotel in New Nickerie.
Day 2:
06.00 You start in New South Drain at Nickerie where we will step into the waiting boat. 07.00 departure to Singapura with a stop inOreala in Guyana. At 12.00 you arrive in Singapura, one of the Indian villages in the area Corantyne. We have lunch in a park on the Corentyne River and then we go to Cawfalls. We sail through breathtaking scenery with large sandbanks in the middle of the river, beautiful rock formations in the water caused by waterfall effect (rapids). Our overnight destination is Cawfalls where we stay in a camp with hammocks or a river island in tents.
Day 3:
After enjoying the beautiful sunrise and breakfast on the edge of the river we leave Cawfalls for the Wonotobofalls. This breathtaking journey takes us past the prehistoric rock carvings (petroglyphs). We regularly see flying birds, and sometimes we can encounter wild animald swimming. In this environment the Corentyne is also known as an excellent area for the sportfishing because of the appearance of the popular Tarpon and different types of catfish such as the tiger catfish. After Wonotobofalls you can take a dive in fresh water between the rocks. After dinner, social gathering on the rocks or you may also go a walk for spotting animals. Depending on your choice the night will be spent in a simple hut with hammocks or tents with mattresses
Day 4:
After breakfast we move to Guyana. From Guyana there is a beautiful view of the Wonotobofalls that you can fully appreciate. We make a walk and then will visit the petroglyphs and grinding grooves of the Indians who once lived there. In the afternoon we leave Guyana for direction Suriname to visit different parts of the Surinamese side for the Wonotobofalls. The afternoon is free and can be spent at your own discretion. Evening BBQ at the base camp.
Day 5:
After breakfast we take a walk and at lunchtime we go back to camp. In the afternoon, various activities are done eg fishing, swimming, rowing in small canoes on the quiet stretch of river, beach or cliff walk or just relaxing in a hammock. Staying at the base camp.
Day 6:
After breakfast we again make our way towards Nickerie. On the way back we stop for some lunch and possibly buy Indian souveniers.We sail until the late afternoon and at night we overnight on Pigeon Island or Singapura.
Day 7:
Departure to Nickerie where we arrive in the afternoon and the bus towards Paramaribo where we will arrive in the evening.

Notes:
All nights are held in lodges with beds with mosquito nets or hammocks with mosquito nets in the Indian huts.
This could possibly be extended for 1 or 2 days.
